Molly's Mermaid Party

For Molly's 8th birthday party, we hosted 8 other 'mermaids' for swimming and snacks! All of the girls had lots of fun!!! The pool was a little cool, so besides swimming, we had lots of time for jumping on the trampoline, doing a mermaid craft, eating octoweiners & cake, opening gifts, applying mermaid tattoos, and playing with new toys we dug out of the treasure chest.

Cooler Weather, Birthday Fingerpainting & Mother's Day Out

This past weekend brought us some much needed cooler weather and we are excited!  I hope it sticks around for awhile..............bring on FALL!!! Sunday was Molly's 8th birthday and one of her gifts was a set of fingerpaints and art paper. We got right outside in our pjs on Monday morning (Labor Day Holiday!) and started fingerpainting.  Sam and Stella had never experienced such fun, and boy, did they get it everywhere.  Molly decided to have a higher work space so they couldn't ruin her masterpieces.

Today, Sam and Stella started their first Mother's Day Out Program at Treasure Patch Kids in Round Rock.  They had been there for 'orientation' earlier this week, and unfortunately when when entered the building, Sam remembered........................ He started to melt down in the hallway and once in the classroom, he lost it! Meanwhile, Stella was already looking at books with the teacher and waving bye bye!  I simply knelt down and said to Sam, "I Love You, and I'll be back" and then told Stella the same.  I'm not sure if anyone heard that last part (over the crying!!!)  So, as I write this blog, and prepare to "do lunch" with a friend I haven't seen in ages, I want you all to know
I'M LOVING MDO ALREADY!!!
Here's one more pic that sums up Stella's personality..........giving kisses to the camera :)

Nail Family Baptisms

This past Sunday, on August 28th, 2011, four of the five of us were baptized at Rockbridge United Methodist Church in Cedar Park.  Molly decided on her own to accept Christ into her heart and that it was time for her to be baptized in the church.  Eric and I decided that it would be a good time to get Sam and Stella taken care of as well, and then Eric decided to publicly profess his faith and follow suit!  Here are some pictures from our special day!!!

Ok Ok Ok.......I'm really going to try to do better!!!

Several people have mentioned to me lately that I haven't done a very good job of keeping up with my blog.  WELL, they are correct!  It hasn't been quite three months, but what can I say?   My excuses have been, but are not limited to:

Summer (no school)
Family reunions x 2 (back to back weekends)
Vacation Bible School for Molly
Diva Camp for Molly
Tennis lessons for Molly
Swimming lessons for Molly, Sam and Stella
Playing at the River in New Braunfels
Trip to see friends near Dallas
Swimming in our backyard pool
New Church Home (Yay Rockbridge!)
Elected to the Austin Mothers of Multiples Board
Weekly play dates with Sam & Stella's twin friends
Occasional Mom's night out with my friends
Eric travelled to Singapore, Japan, and San Francisco for work :(

SO, in a nut shell, I've been a little busy and blogging was not on my 'to do' list!  I am hopeful that since school has resumed for Molly, and Sam and Stella start Mothers Day Out soon, we (and when I say we, I mean I) can get back into a routine :)  I am going to try to post a weekly update and sometimes photos may accompany that..........no promises on that second part!!!

The Word "School" Has Been Banned by MOLLY

We started our summer this week with TONS of fun stuff!  Memorial day was commerated on Sunday with a backyard BBQ and Swimming with lots of friends and good food.  My sister in law Lindsey (Justin's wife) dropped off her middle son at camp on Sunday in New Braunfels, then headed this way with 5 year old Jake.  My other sister in law Shelle (Eric's sister) also joined us on Sunday and we've had a blast this week.

Some of our highlights have included:
a Round Rock Express baseball game on Monday,
swimming EVERY DAY (sometimes twice),
playing at The Big Bounce,
eating lunch at Rosas,
making our own pizza,
playing at the park,
and watching great movies!
We've had a fun time and we'll miss them :(

As for the title of my post...........
Molly decided that the S word must be banned from our vocab-
at least for the rest of the summer!!!!!

Round Rock Christian Talent Show 2011 - "Backwards"

Here is the link to Molly's dance from today's talent show at her school.  She was the first performer and we couldn't be more proud. Her spirit was so joyful and contagious!!!  WE LOVE HER!!!

Pioneer Farms

Yesterday the twins and I went to Pioneer Farms for the Austin Mother's of Multiples Spring Picnic.  It was a gorgeous day and they had tons of fun running around with all the other kiddos and checking out all of the farm animals and exhibits.  They especially loved going back to the bunny hut over and over!!!  Molly got to spend the weekend with her dad in San Antonio, and reported a fun time swimming with friends and 'staying up really late'!  Eric is on an airplane as I type this, hopefully landing in Austin any moment, to return home from his business trip to Singapore.  We are all ready to have him back :)  I think I'll curl up on the couch and catch up on my "words with friends" games now...........hopefully I can stay awake till he gets home!

Hummo Ride

Round Rock Christian had their annual Jog a Thon recently and every kid who raised $250 or more, earned a trip to Gattiland in a Hummer Limo.  Molly was among those who got to take this fantastic trip today!  Her friend and classmate calls this a Hummo Ride, and I think that's so CUTE.  My friend Erica, who was the chaperon and photographer, called me afterwards to tell me what a dancer Molly is!!!  I'm actually a little jealous.........I've never even been in a stretch limo.  Maybe next year I'll volunteer to be the chaperon :)

Dancin to Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" in the Hummo!

Sprinkler Time!

Eric is in Singapore for 10 days, so the kids and I are keeping busy to make the time fly by!  We've gone for walks, gone to the park, gone out to eat, gone to Sams & Target, gone to church, and visited friends.  This past Sunday afternoon was pretty hot, so instead of me attempting to swim with all three, I broke out the sprinkler and a couple of swim diapers.  The twins weren't sure what to do, so Molly gave them a quick 'lesson' and they all had a ball.  Fingers crossed that we will continue to have a 'fun' week and daddy will be home before we know it.......We all miss him tons :(

Round Rock Christian Academy 1st Grade Easter Program

The RRCA 1st graders put on a wonderful Easter Program this past week at the school.  Immediately following that performance, they traveled to a local retirement home to perform it again!

2011 RRCA Jog a Thon

Molly completed the 2011 Round Rock Christian Academy Jog a Thon this past Friday with a total of 26 laps!  She had a ball jogging, walking (a little), and mostly dancing to the lively music they were playing!!! My friend Erica put together a photo collage of Molly's class, so I thought it appropriate to share :0)

Sam's Surgery

Last week Sam had to have outpatient surgery, and he was SUCH a good patient.  Eric took this picture of us in the recovery room.  He is doing great and it hasn't slowed him down a bit!!!!!

Springtime is Here

Molly got to take a trip to seaworld over spring break and had lots of fun, although she claims it wasn't too cold, I'm not sure I totally believe her!

Sam and Stella are ready for baseball season and sporting the Astros caps they got as babies (that finally fit!)

Good Bye Walter

We decided to find Walter a new home after he began getting out of our yard and roaming the neighborhood at all hours.  He was a very high maintenance doggie and even the kids grew tired of him jumping on them and tearing up their toys and shoes.  He now lives with a family that has 30 acres of roaming room and two kids who are a bit older!  Goodbye Walter, you were a good dog..............(sort of)

A Long Five Weeks!

Our kitchen remodel is finally (almost) done after a LONG five weeks! It doesn't sound like that long, but we were getting pretty tired of take out and cold sandwiches. I didn't realize how nice it was to be able to make a grilled cheese sandwich or bake some cinnamon rolls whenever I pleased....... So there are just a few minor things that the contractor is coming back to finish, but we are 'in' and SO happy with the final results! Come see us and I'll make you a grilled cheese anytime!!!

Baby, Take a Good Look at Me Now...........

I have had that song (Baby, Take a good look at me now......) in my head all day!  We spent the weekend packing up our kitchen in preparation for a remodeling project that is starting TOMORROW!!! My birthday was friday and I spent most of it boxing, wrapping, packing, and hauling stuff into the garage and to the Goodwill.  Saturday was more of the same and it feels really good to be done.  My parents came and helped with the packing and the kiddos (can't say thanks enough) and Saturday night we enjoyed a night out at Logan's Roadhouse for dinner.  We have a makeshift kitchen set up in our bedroom, complete with a toaster oven, iced tea maker, microwave, and lots of plasticware and paper plates.  I wanted to post a few 'before' pictures and hopefully I can post some 'in progress' and some 'after' pics soon!!!  Wish us luck..............the DEMO starts at 9am in the morning :)

Stella- Before the big Haircut!

Snow Day, 2011

Lots of days lately, I've thought that I'd sit down and take the time to update our blog as soon as I finished this or that, or after the kitchen was clean, or the laundry was done and all the kids were in bed............Well, at the end of the day, I've been tired of thinking and doing, and my brain has been scattered.  SO, now I am attempting to update it with a few photos that have captured our Feburary so far!

Blogging Failure :(

Ok, I know that its been a REALLY long time since I posted anything to our blog.  Thus the title: Blogging Failure :(   January has flown by, with lots going on, but not much really going on.  Does that make sense to anyone???  Four out of five of us have been sick this month, at one time or another.  Strep, upper respiratory infections and a bad ear infection have all made appearances.  We've given CVS lots of our green stuff this month; over the counters, Kleenex and of course various prescriptions.  The weather in Round Rock has been hot, cold, hot, cold, rainy, clear, sunny, etc, etc, etc......... and tomorrow we should be able to add frigid, icy, and gloomy!  We've tried to get outside as much as we can when the days are nice.  The kids got a new play set for the backyard and the slides are a hit.  Sam and Stella are exploring a lot when we go out; mostly finding things to put into their mouths like acorns, dirt, leaves, and old goldfish crackers from who knows when.  Molly is doing great and gearing up for a Valentines day party at her school.  We are planning to make sugar cookies with sprinkles and she wants to try her hand at homemade valentines day cards this year for all of her classmates.  (Glad there are only 11!)  So, with all of that being said, I'd better get back to the laundry and kids............ahhhh, the exciting life I lead!!!
