Getting Ready for School to Start

We have had a busy week at our house.  Monday started off with haircuts for Molly & I  and then a little shopping.  We have bought our school supplies, a new backpack, a few school clothes, and a new pair of tennis shoes to start off the 1st grade right!  We also went to several garage sales last Saturday morning and she found a new bunny for 50cents.  One of the new outfits she got for school had a matching 'doll' outfit, so she and the bunny were dressed alike for a drive down to New Braunfels.  The twins are both crawling now and pulling up on everything!  Sam has finally figured out the crawling/scooting/inching along and he can get across the room lickety split.  He has been teething and has also finally caught up to Stella in that department.  They each have 8 teeth............ a lot for their age, I think!  Stella is babbling a lot and making da da da sounds and Sam just laughs and laughs at her.  I am trying really hard to relax about their nap time and schedules; the more stressed I get, the worse they do.  I would like to think that the schedule would just fall into place, but who am I kidding?  I guess once school starts next Wednesday, we will all get into a better, more structured routine, and I think I will like that a lot!!!

Stitches for Mama :(

This week I had a small accident when I slipped in the garage and cut my hand.   Of course it was my right hand:  the one I wash bottles with, change diapers with, brush hair with, etc., etc., etc.................. It hasn't stopped me from having to do all of those things, but Eric has been washing all the dishes!!!
I knew that since it was at the base of my finger, on my palm, it would probably not heal on it's own.  I made the trip to Scott and White ER, where I got 3 stitches and some 'glue'!  It is sore, but tolerable and I should be good as new before long.

Sam & Stella- 9 Months Old

Sam and Stella are nine months old now and we are having so much fun!  They are both into everything and their personalities are really starting to come through.  Sam is quieter and likes to sit back and watch all the activity.  Stella, on the other hand, wants to be in the middle of any activity, and likes to spend lots of time on my lap!  He is bigger, weighing about 25lbs to her 22lbs, but she is taller by an inch or so.  They are jabbering a lot and are usually full of smiles.  They still love baby Einstein and their favorite thing to do is go swimming with Eric, Molly, and me!

Princess Camp 2010

Molly attended her very first Princess Camp this past week in Round Rock.  She was "officially" a princess for 5 whole days!  The had lots of lessons on manners, etiquette, cupcake decorating, spa day, and all around girly fun.  Cinderella even stopped by for a visit.  The last day included a performance of the cupcake dance and refreshments for all.  She had a ball and would love to go again next year!!!

Toofless!!!

Molly will be turning seven in one month and today she finally lost her first tooth!!! It's been loose for months, and now she has 3 other loose ones as well.  This one started to get really wiggly a couple of weeks ago, so I took a 'before' photo.  Then today right after this one came out, I took an 'after' shot.  She was so excited to let me pull it and can't wait to see if the tooth fairy comes to visit tonight!  I'm hoping she brings her at least a dollar............it is the first one, after all!!!

Kid Corral- AKA "THE CAGE"

Stella is crawling all over the place and even climbing up onto the steps in our living area.  Sam is starting to get up on hands and knees and rock and scoot around too!  We have started to baby proof as we go, hoping to catch them in the acts of mischief, before they get into too much trouble!  I've moved all the cleaning supplies, put plug covers in their room (since we spend a lot of time in there playing) and also the Corral is now a permanent fixture in our living area.  They have only managed to push it over once so far because I didn't have it anchored very well.  I'm hoping to get at least a couple more months out of it.............. Stella's crib mattress has been lowered all the way down, and Sam's is soon to follow!  They are starting to sway to music and babble a lot more.  All in all, they are very happy and healthy babies and we feel blessed beyond words.

Ball Pit- Call me Crazy

I recently bought a baby pool for the Sam and Stella, but it has become more of an indoor toy since it's SO hot outside.  I went garage sale shopping on Saturday morning and guess what I found for $2.00???  A huge garbage bag full o balls!!!  After a bleach water bath and time to dry, we now have our very own ball pit!  Stella is a fan, Sam............not so much.  Molly & her friends are having fun with the balls too.  Our friend Nicole even spelled out the babies names- SO CUTE.

Family Vacation

We went on a week long vacation last week and all had a wonderful time!  We started out in New Braunfels for the weekend and saw lots of friends and family at the river.  The kids had a great time swimming and we all enjoyed a relaxing time.  On Sunday afternoon we headed west to Sonora, where we camped at the Sonora Caverns campgrounds.  There were deer at the feeder right by our camper, and peacocks on the porch nearby! Eric and Molly enjoyed a tour of the caverns on Monday morning and the babies and I napped!  Monday afternoon we headed west again to Ft. Davis, where my brother and his wife live with their three boys.  It was great to get to see them and feel the cool, dry, mountian air!  We swam at Balmorrea state park on Tuesday and the kiddos had a blast playing and jumping on the trampoline.  Wednesday we drove to Eldorado to spend a little time at my parents house and we stayed there until Friday.  We finally came home on Friday and really had a nice, relaxing weekend!!!
